Wedding entertainment is one of the most important factors during your special day. Yes people will remember the pretty flowers, and the elegant lights, as well as the tasty food your venue served … but what they’ll really take home with them is the entertainment. This is what they’ll talk about for years to come, and the photos and video will help bring back those wonderful memories, especially in this age of iPhones, and iPads where many guests take video-clips of the action.

Entertainment is an art more than a science, there is really no set formula to entertain guests since every crowd is so different. One everyone does share in common is the desire to have fun and share that with you on your special day. In return you have to spoil them by entertaining them for the 4 hours of the reception. There are many many options in the wedding-market available, from belly-dancers (usually dance a 20 minute number) to comedians, to wedding singers, just keep in mind that this night is all about creating memories.

In our field, the debate always comes up of whether to use a band or a DJ for your Wedding. The answer is both. The band cannot go all night and their songs are limited. Your DJ can pick up the slack here and carry the party for those hard-core dancers. Another very good option is a Wedding percussionist. This is by far the best option available. You have the element of live music that a band brings, combined with your DJ spinning the original version of your favorite hits, there is simply no comparison. If you need further proof try watching this video below.

We brought Matt on board a few months ago after a groom requested to have one at his Wedding, and if we could, we would have him there for every Wedding.

If you’re unsure about which option to go with, there is always YouTube. Spend an hour or two reviewing videos online. As long as your guests feel entertained they will relay that onto you and you will literally have the time of your life!

Are you considering any type of wedding entertainment? Have you used any of the above elements for your Wedding reception?
